Express Your True Colours

How to wow a future purchaser with colour -

If it has been a while since the last time you painted, giving your room a fresh coat of colour could be just the rejuvenation that's needed. Psychologists have known for decades that certain colours can have an impact on how we feel. From my experience it is not only what we wear, but our surroundings.

The future of interiors -

Neutral Colours:

With neutral backgrounds, accessorise these areas with colour. This will change the mood and look of a room. Especially if you are wanting to go all out with a bold colour, with the use of accessories i.e. cushions, art.

White / Rice Cake:

White has that fresh appearance and the feeling of newness. A colour of perfection and easily coordinated with most furnishings.

Green:

Has a calming affect. Creates focus and productivity. Green is also very rejuvenating to the soul. All greens - are really on trend this year.

Blue:

Again, creates a calming space. A great colour to choose if you have a hectic life. It helps melt away anxiety and fear and creates a space of zen to relax. Dustier Blues - on trend.

Yellow / Mustard:

Yellow is a colour to choose for people wanting to work harder and be healthier. It promotes physical activity, brightens up a room and exudes warmth.

Grey:

Another shade that is easily co-ordinated. It brings a feeling of clarity and simplicity.

So the colour you paint your walls isn’t just a matter of aesthetics, it’s a tool that can affect your emotions.
